Sharing is caring!

This Shrimp Taco recipe is so amazing. They’re so fresh, light, and easy to make. The shrimp smell so good when You’re cooking them. They are such sweet and delicate little morsels I have a hard time not eating them all before I ever make the tacos. When combined with the cilantro and slawSpicy Coleslaw Recipe you have the most wonderful bite. The cilantro and sriracha give the taco a unique flavor, sweet and spicy.

This Taco is one of my favorite recipes to make for a luncheon with friends. Everyone really enjoys them and it looks like you spent hours on them. Great way to impress everyone. I even took everything to work and made them for the team that I was working with. It was a great treat for them. They’re quick to make and so satisfying. The only things you’ll need to get started are listed below.

Ingredients:

  • Raw shrimp/Prawns
  • Oil
  • Butter
  • Garlic
  • Cilantro
  • Limes
  • Cole slaw
  • Tortillias
  • Sriracha sauce

This shrimp taco dish comes out so bright and beautiful, I just love the way it looks when it’s all finished and set on a plate. People get so excited when they see it and then when they taste it it’s just a whole new experience. It’s like a party in your mouth with all the different flavors.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Flour or Corn Tortillas will work
  • Hot or cold is yummy
  • Spanish rice is a good side dish
  • Beans would be good also
  • Fruit would keep the whole dish fresh and light

These shrimp tacos are a pretty healthy option for dinner, especially when you cut the tortillas in quarters. You could substitute the mayo with yogurt in the coleslaw recipe if you’d prefer. also, you can buy low-carb tortillas. You just have to play around with things to see what fits your taste and diet needs. Anything in moderation is fine, as I’ve said before, you just have to watch your calories and carbs especially for heart-healthy or diabetic diets.

You know cooking isn’t just about throwing things in an instapot or a microwave. it’s really about the joy of cooking, tasting your food, and making it. The pleasure of feeding others and seeing how much they enjoy it. Cooking does come from the heart. There’s just something about adding all the ingredients and tasting it to make it exactly as you want it. To bring out the flavors that taste good to you. Stirring it and watching it grow into something very beautiful. And then to put it on a plate is like a piece of art. The plate is like a canvas for everyone to enjoy. Plating food is what makes it appetizing. If it’s pretty then you’ll want to eat it…..

So as you can see from my recipes I love seafood and making inexpensive dishes. I am always looking for sales and will buy it then put it in the freezer for later.

    1. Peel and clean shrimp well. Already deveined is preferred.
    2. Get your skillet really hot with the cooking oil. (I like the cast iron skillet, It gives the shrimp a nice flavor.)
    3. Pat the shrimp with a dry paper towel, this will reduce splattering
    4. Drop them carefully into the skillet
    5. Cook them on each side for 2 to 3 minutes depending on the size. You want them pink and golden brown on the outside.
    6. At the very end just before they're done cooking you want to throw the butter and garlic in. They come out so sweet and wonderful.
    7. Take the large tortillas and cut them into 4 pieces.
    8. Put them in another large skillet on medium heat with some nonstick cooking spray or oil to heat up. This only takes about 30 secs on each side.
    9. Pull them out of the pan and place them on a plate. Place some coleslaw in the center, add 3-4 shrimp on top, garnish with cilantro and sriracha to taste. Squeeze some fresh lime juice over it all. Easy Breezy...
